The word 'karakuri' has come to mean "mechanisms" or "trick" in Japanese. It is used to describe any device that evokes a sense of awe through the concealment of its inner workings.

The Karakuri Table is an exploration into the inquisitive mind of the problem solver. What at first glance is simple shapes soon become complex joinery, where the maker must place each seemingly random piece into the correct position and orientation to assemble and solve the puzzle, thus revealing the finished work as a piece of eye-catching furniture.

*Please note the Karakuri Table will come fully assembled, if you would like to take up the challenge and solving the puzzle by putting the table together yourself please email us through the contact page and we can provide it disassembled with a instruction guide.
